Making The Switch to Electric Vehicles

Over the past few years, the presence of electric vehicles (EV) in the USA has grown substantially. If you’re wondering why, it’s because making the switch to electric vehicles is easier than it ever has been before.

If there is anyone to thank for this, it’s Elon Musk and Tesla. Think about it.  When someone says “electric vehicle,” the first car you think of is Tesla. Not only did they successfully make an electric car that has a range of 300 miles +, but they also supported it by creating a network of charging stations that would allow drivers to travel long distances without range anxiety. While Tesla’s contribution can’t be ignored, they are not the only reason we’re seeing more and more people shift to electric vehicles.

Initially, people had a lot of questions about electric vehicles especially when it came to their service. Where do I go? Do I need to go to the manufacturer? Can my local mechanic change my cabin air filter, wiper blades, lights, and other wearable items?

As the first movers to electric vehicles started to share their experiences, it became apparent that your local mechanic would be more than capable of servicing your EV, and that you’d also have to visit them less. Here’s why.

You see, the biggest difference between an EV and an internal combustion car is that one has batteries and the other has an engine. Other than that, they’re pretty much the same. The lack of an internal combustion engine (ICE) in an electric car means the EV has far fewer moving parts inside it than the ICE counterpart. This means there is less wear and tear experienced by an EV over its life span and as a result, it needs to be serviced less frequently. Some of the serviceable parts that would need regular replacement are your cabin air filter, wiper blades and tires.

But that’s no concern either because components like cabin air filters & wiper blades are easily available with established brands like PUREFLOW®, Premium Guard & SilBlade. So, if your Tesla wiper blades aren’t cutting it, or your cabin air filter gets clogged, a replacement is one click away with PUREFLOW®, Premium Guard & SilBlade.

These parts and services aren’t just offered for Tesla vehicles. They are also available for most domestic, European & Asian electric vehicles as well.

But should you make the switch to an electric vehicle?

In a word, yes. Unless you love the sound of an internal combustion engine and the feeling of control you get with a stick-shift, you should consider moving to an EV. Not only are they eco-friendly, quiet, and sophisticated, but they also have the performance to put most gas engines to shame on the drag strip. But that’s a conversation for another time.

And even if you are a pure-bred motor head, what’s wrong with having an all-electric environment friendly vehicle that won’t need half as much servicing as your internal combustion car or truck? Sleep on it, you might see what we mean.
